Look at the colour of your neck
This is the area that reflects your true complexion best: less sun-exposed, no redness, no temporary tan.
Identify your undertone
Green veins = warm. Blue veins = cool. A mix of both = neutral. A simple compass to frame the right shade.
Choose based on the finish
Luminous and fresh? Go for the shade just above. Matte and structured? Pick the one that blends exactly into your neck.
Prioritise the blend
A shade that disappears on the skin after application is the right one. If you can still see it, it is probably too light or too deep.

Can I pick the wrong shade?
The likelihood is low. Our formulas are intentionally developed to melt into the skin, and our powders are modular. Even with a foundation shade that falls "between two", a lighter or deeper powder lets you fine-tune the finish. As a last resort, our customer service always finds a solution.
Do the powders need to be an exact match to the foundation?
No. Several combinations are possible. A lighter powder brightens, a deeper powder structures. Many of our clients deliberately use a Trois Îlets powder over a Santa Maria foundation for a more luminous effect.
Can I pick a powder lighter than my foundation?
Yes, without hesitation. It is actually a professional technique to brighten the centre of the face (forehead, nose, chin, cheekbones) and add dimension to the complexion without applying a highlighter.
Does the foundation oxidise?
Our fluid no-transfer formula is stabilised so it does not oxidise on the skin. The colour you get at application is the one you wear at the end of the day.
I'm between two shades — which one should I choose?
The golden rule: pick the shade closest to your neck. The face and décolleté don't always have the same colour — it's the neck that tells the truth. If in doubt, send us a clear photo in daylight and we'll guide you.
